A hospital for the sick in a town that’s home to some of the world’s most notorious medical facilities is now a hotbed for controversy.
A group of Christian groups is suing the hospital for allegedly ignoring complaints about its lack of medical facilities, and are seeking class action status.
More than half of the more than 300 patients who visited the hospital were found to have a medical condition they were told they weren’t entitled to receive.
“The hospital has systematically failed to treat the patients and has repeatedly misled the public about the nature and extent of its medical services,” the lawsuit said.
According to the suit, the hospital failed to adequately respond to complaints about inadequate care, including the failure to take patient records into account and the failure of the hospital to follow up with its patients.
The hospital also failed to follow through with a “schedule of medical services” for its patients, the suit said.
The lawsuit is seeking class-action status for the “incompetent hospital” as well as unspecified damages.
The lawsuit says the hospital is also violating the U.S. Constitution by refusing to disclose its finances, including payments for patients and medical bills.
