A Florida woman is facing murder charges after her boyfriend’s body was found outside their home.
The woman, 43-year-old Michelle Smith, is accused of killing 27-year, Robert Lomax in the woods near the small town of Rosebud, officials said.
Lomat, a former police officer, was the son of a retired firefighter.
He was known for working with children and was a regular at the church where the couple attended, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Deputies say the body of Lomacke was found by a homeowner who heard a noise on his property.
They say Smith was inside the house with Lomacoke’s girlfriend, who also lived there, when they returned home about 11:45 p.m.
Sunday and found Lomakis body outside.
Authorities said the couple had been drinking together and it’s unclear how long the couple would have been drinking, according to the Sheriff’s office.
Lomackes girlfriend told investigators he was a father of four, had a wife and three young children, and that they had no known trouble, according the Sheriff, who declined to say how long Smith had been staying with Lomiakis.
The Sheriff’s department said Smith was arrested at her home Monday night.
